The thesis assesses the physical and monetary value of carbon sequestered by marine ecosystems in Exclusive Economic Zones at a global and national level. The carbon estimates of mangrove forests, salt marshes and seagrass meadows, which are derived explicitly by species. The carbon estimates are valued by the social cost of carbon.
