Tasks: sorting and loading of assigned route bundled papers at main hub; safe and timely delivery of newspapers to assigned locations; effective communications with manager and colleagues carried out in German. This job allowed me to practice German while attending German classes.

Project: Molecular mechanisms of cancer and cancer-associated cachexia Tasks: performing both standardized and specialized laboratory procedures, including RNA/DNA isolation, genotyping, tissue collection, tissue sectioning (microtome); management of rodent breeding colonies; management of daily laboratory operations including supply management, safety protocol management; cleaning and sterilization of equipment and work area, including set up of new equipment; preparation of detailed accounting reports.

Project: Oral biofilm and bacterial interaction Tasks: performing both standardized and specialized laboratory procedures, including RNA/DNA isolation, FISH, PCR, qPCR, bacterial growth analysis, bacterial transformation, prokaryote and human cell culture; teaching students; management of daily laboratory operations including supply management; maintenance of SOPs and mandatory safety documentation and lab safety supervision; editing of documentation and manuscripts for publication.

Project: Adaptive molecular mechanisms of brain plasticity occurring with abuse of alcohol Tasks: performing both standardized and specialized laboratory procedures including RNA/DNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, microarray, behavioural experiments on mice, tissue collection and stereotaxic surgery; management of a large mouse colony; teaching and supervision of both undergraduate and postgraduate students; assisting with special ad-hoc projects and initiatives; implementation of new stereotaxic robot to the lab.
