Key expertise at the interface of automation/instrumentation and biochemistry: Next-generation sequencing (NGS), NGS-based assays, qPCR-based assay development, automated nucleic acid extraction for liquid biopsy applications in oncology and non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT).

Responsible for IVD-compliance in development of Molecular Diagnostics (MDx) products, guidance and advice to MDx product development and management teams across different company sites on product quality topics, providing technical expertise (current focus: Next-generation sequencing and liquid biopsy technologies) Project Manager ad interim for QIAGEN’s global activities to bring the portfolio of CE-IVD products to compliance with the new EU IVD Regulation (IVDR)

— Head of Liquid Biopsy & Multimodality Competence Group (Senior Group Leader; 10 direct reports — 3 PhD scientists, 2 MSc Scientists, 5 Technicians) as part of Molecular Diagnostics product development. — Project management of product development projects focused on automated extraction of nucleic acids from human specimens for molecular diagnostics applications (cancer diagnostics, non-invasive prenatal diagnostics, blood-borne viruses)

Responsible for all product development projects (immunoassays in allergy diagnostics and autoimmune diagnostics); development of in in-vitro diagnostic tests according to EU directives for medical devices. Market surveillance, scouting of new technologies and product trends
