Meybis Ruiz

As an Art Director I got involved in all projects that required art and illustration, from the concept stage, through all the development process, steering art direction, doing part of the art, and some animation.

As Art Director I lead and supervise all the artists through the development of the project’s appearance, and so to guide the art direction of it. As an artist, I also contributed by doing side by side with the other artists all kind of art work, such as character design, environments, splash screen, posters, promotional illustrations, etc.

As development manager I coordinated and communicated all the involved parts in a project, from the project manager and content director to coders, designers, artists, etc, and so to supervise the development of these last ones during all the stages of the project, guiding them to it’s successful closure.

During my stay at Instituto Superior de Diseño I imparted different subjects, teaching consistently Motion Graphics and Animation (both simultaneously and separately through several semesters), and with less frequency (only a couple of semesters) illustration and editorial design. Also, one of the most gratifying tasks as a teacher is tutoring a student’s graduation project, which I had the pleasure and honor to do in eight occasions, all of them completed successfully with the highest mark.

I worked through the years doing some advertising, branding, illustration, campaigns, catalogues, posters, cd collections, etc. It helped me in my first years after graduation, giving me a lot of experience in several fields of my profession, and helping me to improve my communication skills while working in collaborative environments with other designers.
