Service aka product owner responsible for 3 enterprise domains (railway incident management, project & project portfolio management, quality management) with significant annual budget (OPEX & CAPEX), budgetary control & forecasting, managing several projects simultaneously, coordinating internal and external service delivery. Enabling & supporting strategic IT projects of business units. Enforcing IT governance converning IT architecture approval of any IT demand or IT purchase until year-end 2020.

Leading a team of 7 enterprise architects, product owners & project managers, responsible for 6 agile services aka products: i) enterprise architecture, innovation & data management, ii) health check & life cycle management, iii) IT project portfolio management, iv) mobile platforms, v) railway incident management, vi) IT infrastructure, with a significant annual budget. Enforcing IT governance converning i) IT architecture approval of any IT demand or IT purchase order and ii) IT CAPEX project approvals.

Expert-level IT enterprise architect, responsible for 3 enterprise domains (incident management for railway operations, project & project portfolio management, quality management) with significant annual budget (OPEX & CAPEX), budgetary control & forecasting, managing projects, pursuing strategic IT initiatives, deriving IT strategy for business units, developing roadmaps. Corporate IT project portfolio manager & member of the corporate IT architecture and IT portfolio management boards of the ÖBB Group.

As the first member of the IT Enterprise Architecture team at ÖBB-Personenverkehr AG, Michael led major IT architecture and IT innovation initiatives working closely with senior management and was a member of the corporate IT architecture board of the ÖBB Group representing ÖBB-Personenverkehr AG.

Michael took care of the ACS systems and storage business in Austria. He was responsible for presales, project management, invoicing and revenue recognition.

In 2009 he took on the sales responsibility for his team as well and worked on a multi-million software opportunity in 2010.

Prior to Oracle's acquisition of Sun Microsystems Austria on July 1st 2010, Michael lead a team of five senior Professional Services consultants and a project coordinator. They worked closely with Sun customers in the areas of systems, storage and software, both in presales and project delivery. He was responsible for the P&L of his small but powerful consulting unit.

Michael was a senior technical consultant and architect in areas such as Identity Management, web services and Java. He frequently was responsible for technical project management in projects as well.

Michael enjoyed a successful 10-year technical career at IBM in Austria with international engagements in Helsinki, Finland and Zurich, Switzerland. He is the co-author of U.S. Patent 5958003 "Method and computer system for improving the response time of a computer system to a user request" filed in 1997.
