Characterisation and infectivity analysis of recombinant pIX-DARPin adenoviral vectors re-targeted against Her2- positive cancer cells & evaluation of in vitro Herceptin efficacy in a selection of tumour cells with variable Her2 expression. Methodology: Molecular analysis techniques, flow cytometry, high-throughput imaging, homologous recombineering, cell culture, cell -toxicity and -death assays.

• As well as gaining experience in cell-free protein synthesis I have also built up expertise in RNA transcript production, reporter gene assays (incl. ELISA) and general molecular biology skills. • Research project: In vitro cell-free protein expression systems, involved screening a number of different viral IRES elements in both insect and mammalian expression systems, to search for the most efficient in directing translation initiation on both capped and uncapped RNAs.
