X-ray structure analysis of proteins and protein-ligand-complexes for rational drug design for customers in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and agrochemical industry, In addition, optimization and treatment of protein crystals of difficult targets as well as the improvement of the success rate of protein-ligand complex structure analysis by the production of co-crystals with ligands of poor solubility or low affinity using advanced technology: Free Mounting system (FMS), Picodropper and heater.

Participation in the Europe-wide project SPINE (Structural Proteomics in Europe), a consortium comprised of nineteen leading centres in structural biology. The project focused on cutting edge technologies aimed at biomedically relevant targets, and generated a pan-European integration of technologies for biomedically focussed structural proteomics. During this time I was involved in two different subjects. Initially therapeutically relevant protein kinases and adapter proteins from signal transduction pathways should be cloned, expressed, purified and their X-ray crystal structures carried out within the framework of the EU-project SPINE (Structural Proteomics in Europe). In the second part I carried out X-ray crystal structure analyses of a mutant of the cupredoxin pseudoazurin from Achromobacter cycloclastes
