Active Brake Assist (ABA) • Restructured the TargetLink® model to meet the requirements related to the pedestrian protection functionality (Camera-Radar sensor fusion) • Co-developed, implemented and validated ABA Safety Concept to prevent unjustified emergency braking • Analyzed and fixed Polyspace® findings • Analyzed and fixed field testing issues • Used tool chain which includes: - MATLAB/Simulink®, dSPACE/TargetLink® - SVN - DOORS

• Supervised the development and integration process of the Mercedes-Benz’ Crosswind Assist (an embedded customer software in the ESP controller) • Designed a scaling tool which significantly increases software design process efficiency by indicating the best achievable integer resolution and by detecting potential overflows • Used a development and life cycle tool chain that includes: - Real-time SW development tools: MATLAB/Simulink®, dSPACE/TargetLink® - Life cycle traceability tools: MKS, SVN

• Invented an algorithm processing signals from crash sensors to significantly increase the efficiency and precision of occupants’ restraints controllers (s. Patents) • Developed Ford Restraints Data Analyzer (FORDA) which analyzes signals from crash sensors as well as simulation data in order to optimize the sensors’ positions in the vehicle and support the calibration process of the airbag controller • Coordinated the crash test program for Ford C-Max.

• Developed algorithms for active pedestrian protection • Developed a MATLAB-Tool for the offline estimation of pedestrian impact positions • Simulated pedestrian-vehicle impact processes with FEM-methods using COMSOL Multiphysics® • Developed a MATLAB-Tool for impact classification using statistical learning methods.
