Sarah Brandt

In March 2019, I started an internship with Bucher Industries AG, headquartered in Kloten/Switzerland. During my internship, I worked together with the Communications team. The focus of my tasks included managing projects, where I got the ability to further develop my knowledge. I assisted the project team in starting a project and accompanying it until the end. Additionally, I helped with translations of various company related presentations from German to English and vice versa.

In this role I was assisting the Head of Group Communications with project coordination and various event management tasks as a project assistant in the communications department.

In October 2017, I started working for OC Oerlikon a technology company, with its headquarters located in Pfäffikon, Switzerland. The focus of the company are within three segments, surface solutions, manmade fibers and drive system. During an internship, I will be assisting with the 2017 Annual Report. This means, coordinating between different people, arranging meetings, preparing documents, proofreading, designing, translating and lots more.

In summer of 2016, I made an internship at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, a consulting and auditing firm with its headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. I worked in the PR department and was involved in various different tasks, such as organizing and preparing of events, designing presentations, as well as translating many documents and emails from German into English.

IOne key focus was media relations. I could contribute to prepare a media presentation in Sweden. This also included the drafting of a project plan and the selection of communication measures as well as budgeting. In Media Analysis I researched the web presence of ABB in the different media and I presented the results to the management. I was also involved in media agency research for their annual report. I was involved in various internal surveys and presentations and I participated in department meetings.

I translated various websites from a professional race driver (Cyndie Allemann) from English into German. This was quite a long process since existing information covered several years in her race career. Furthermore new information was continuously added which also required prompt translation.

I wrote press articles for a Swiss karting team for each of the 26 race events. Its 15 drivers were participating in the Swiss and International championships. In addition I took pictures of various race events and edited them with “iPhoto”.

I assisted professional nurses and doctors and took care of the patients in a large hospital in Germany. I learned how the infirmary worked, which tasks had to be done regularly and who was responsible for the different tasks. I helped take the meals, bring patients to different wards for checkups, but also do administrative work.

I worked in the communications department. My duty was to analyze the websites of different competitors in the industry combined with the information provided via Internet. With that information I developed and implemented a benchmark on the industry’s standard for web publications.
