Dr. Savvas Varitis

Military Service at 20th Signal Unit. My work was in the communication center of the 20 Armed Division where i was responsible of the incoming calls and signals. My responsibilities also included organizing the duties of military camp's manpower, archiving and drafting of memos. After the 5 first months i was promoted from Private to Corporal and in the last month i was i announced Sergent by honor. Due to my overall service i have received excellent service distinctions and left with honors.

During Thales Scientific Program WasteVal during my PhD wherei have worked in the field of Stabilization/Solidification of Hazardous Inorganic Waste using thermal processing such as Vitrification and preparation of Glass and Glass ceramic materials.

Worked in the "Advanced Ceramics" Laboratory in the NCSR Demokritos in Athens Greece. During my time there i worked on my Master Thesis in the study and manufacturing of Catalysts prepared with the SHS (Self Propagation High Temperature Synthesis) method for the CO2 reforming of Methane.

PhD title: Thermal Processing of Hazardous Wastes Stabilization/Solidification of Hazardous inorganic wastes and preparation of Glass and Glass ceramic materials.

Master Thesis: Preparation and Study of Catalysts for the CO2 reforming of Methane using the Self Propagation High Temperature Synthesis

Erasmus Studies in Berlin where except from Physics lectures i have also attended intensive German language courses.
