I was involved in two projects. In the first one I was in charge of making biophysical tests in maize grains as well as extract and analyze free and bound phenolic compounds. I quantified these through the Folin-Ciocalteu method and measured its bio-activity by the ORAC method. In the second project I micropropagated Agave americana and Agave salmiana to determine its phytochemical and genetic profile. I also evaluated its nutraceutical properties for agave syrup production.
