Selina Postma

For my bachelor thesis I wrote an international export plan based on market research for the company Clondalkin (LPF) in Grootegast. During a period of 5 months I got the chance to write an report about the export chances to Germany for one of their industrial packaging: sealant and adhesive ‘sausages’ (this means the shape of the packaging).

During the summer I worked in a nursing home called 'De Regenboog' in Dronten. The activities were very different. But the priority of the job was to take care of the meals of the residents in the nursing home during lunch hours. Furthermore, I worked in the kitchen every day to prepare meals for "Tafeltje Dekje". A service where volunteers drive meals to nearby towns to the elderly.

This internship was a mandatory part of my bachelor studies. The NBSO offices have been organized by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, in order to support Dutch economic activities abroad. I've been part of the day-to-day activities of the NBSO, which include keeping the website up to date, as well as social media, provide marketresearch information to clients, work on several sector reports and administrative tasks .

I’ve spent almost 5 years working in the hospitality industry as a waitress and hostess. The restaurant has their business in three cities. The most important task is to offer hospitality and service. Furthermore, I myself had a managerial task, which means: close of the restaurant, teaching new employees the ropes, manage the cashier and, of course, solve problems or conflicts with guests.

Exchange semester at Loyola Andalucia University in Sevilla. During this time I improved my Spanish language skills, I studied: Business Innovation, Business Management and Organization, Institutions of European union law, Market research & Spanish and World economy.
