Tamsin Ross-Van Lessen

PostScript Arts is a company I have started with two friends. Together we have created a themed set inside a mobile studio that we set-up at festivals and events. Clients choose from a selection of props and are then photographed within the set. Through this work I have learned a grate deal about business and organisation, as well as set building and people management.

The majority of my work with Synergy has been on a freelance bassis as a children’s portrait photographer. This involves going to clients homes‘ and photographing them and their children in their own environment. This job requires a great deal of adaptablilty and skill as well as very good people skills. Through this work I have greatly improved my technical knowledge of digital photography (especially with Cannon DSLRs), my use of flash and natural light and photographic compostion.

At Body and Soul I was working with children and teenagers affected by HIV/AIDS. I organised and ran a number of workshops which used photography to help the children examine issues such as body image and identity.
