Berufserfahrung von William Hembree

  • 5 Jahre und 9 Monate, Okt. 2010 - Juni 2016

    Research assistant

Chair of Metallic Materials, Saarland University

As a doctoral researcher, my focus was on developing new measurement equipment for material characterization. To this end, I designed, built, programmed, and implemented a high temperature Couette rheometer for measuring the viscosity of molten metals. I was also responsible for teaching bachelors level laboratory courses on material properties (e.g. hardening mechanisms in crystalline metals) as wel as a masters level course on the kinetics of phase transformations in solid metals.

  • 6 Monate, Jan. 2006 - Juni 2006

    Engineering Intern

    Daimler Trucks North America

2nd. Internship through the Multiple Engineering Coop program (MECOP). I provided technical assistance and engineering troubleshooting for the Western Star Trucks cabin assembly line. Additionally, I investigated technical customer claims regarding Western Star Trucks external cabin trim components. One example project involved the standardization of water seals for baggage doors. Furthermore, I used Catia V5 to create up-to-date 3D models and technical drawings for sheet metal cabin trim components.

  • 6 Monate, Jan. 2005 - Juni 2005

    Engineering Intern

    Rosen Sunvisor Systems

I used SolidWorks to create new 3D models and technical drawings for new products and prototypes for aftermarket automotive and aircraft sunvisors. Additionally, I developed a system for translating existing 3D models to CNC tube bending data.
