Dr. Yue Luo

I conducted spatial studies analyzing health topics including health inequity, healthcare access, and cardiovascular disease (CVD) using public and confidential datasets. The study on CVD is funded by the Mark Diamond Research Fund.

As an instructor and TA, I led 14 labs and 2 lectures, including statistics, Geographic Information Science and environmental topics. My teaching evaluations are above the departmental and university average. Student comments indicate the effectiveness of my teaching.

Lead intern; assisting with various Metro related projects. Projects included among other things making station profiles for each rail station, transportation HUB evaluation, update of route service maps due to emergency conditions, and rail station ridership analysis.

I studied with Dr. Peter Rogerson. I am an expert in GIS, statistics (data mining, deep learning) and specialized in spatial statistics (spatial regressions, spatial clustering, locational analysis) and visualization of spatial/temporal data.

I am specialized in spatial analysis and geographic information science (GIS). My focus was on spatial interpolation and time series analysis. My thesis analyzed air pollution in Beijing. I am trained in using R, ArcGIS and Python.

I studied GIS, remote sensing and programming (C++ and C#). I earned multiple scholarships and served as the president of the student association of the department.
