Are you passionate about cloud infrastructure and automation? Become part of Team Materna as an AWS DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) and actively shape the future of our cloud solutions! Yesterday you implemented a lift-and-shift from on-premises to Fargate, today you're handling platform engineering with GitHub and AWS, and tomorrow you'll manage the customer's AWS organization and handle security aspects. At Materna, you'll help design scalable, secure, and resilient AWS solutions that deliver real value for our customers, right from the start. In close collaboration with agile development teams, you'll build CI/CD pipelines, monitor and optimize systems, and ensure their smooth operation.
As an AWS DevOps Engineer
- You will be involved in the software development process from the very beginning, implementing AWS solutions as part of the DevSecOps team and deploying them automatically into production.
- Together with our software developers, you will develop modern, resilient, scalable, and secure cloud-native solutions based on AWS services.
- You ensure that our solutions are easily monitored through appropriate observability approaches and ensure their operation, availability and quality.
- You are our automation expert and work hands-on with AWS, container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or the AWS CDK.
- You provide the components for powerful CI/CD pipelines that enable us to continuously test, secure, and deliver software.
- You will support the systems at all stages – from development to production – and thus support continuous development and operational stability.
This is what you bring with you
- A completed engineering/computer science degree or a comparable qualification
- Relevant experience in creating and operating solutions in the AWS cloud, ideally demonstrated by appropriate AWS certificates (e.g., AWS DevOps Professional)
- Experience in using observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana), provisioning tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CDK), and configuration management systems (e.g., Ansible)
- Knowledge in creating and operating CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub), including integration of quality assurance and security tools such as SonarQube or Checkov
- Ideally experience in migrating and modernizing existing on-premise infrastructures to AWS
- Very good written and spoken German (C1) and English (B2) skills
Your benefits
- Working hours: Thanks to flexitime and flexible working hours without core working hours, you can maintain your work-life balance.
- Vacation: You receive 30 days of vacation. For a New Year's Eve and Christmas off, you only need half days.
- Knowledge sharing: Want to think outside the box? Our brown bag sessions, developer summits, and communities give you the opportunity to do so!
- Sport@Materna: Take advantage of the diverse and flexible sports and wellness offerings of our partner Urban Sports Club throughout Germany, Austria and several European countries.
- Home office: Do you enjoy the flexibility of being able to choose between working from home and the office every day? We do too!
- Learning@Materna: With over 100 training and continuing education opportunities, we support you in your personal development!
- Come as you are: We don't have a dress code. We value your ideas, not your clothing style. We appreciate you in your business attire just as much as in a hoodie and jeans.
Would you also like to be part of the Materna story?
Then we look forward to receiving your application! Our selection process consists of two rounds of interviews. If your application is successful, you will first be invited to a virtual interview.
