TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEER (m/f/d) INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION

You are a technically skilled and proactive Sales Engineer ready to join S4 International as part of the DSA group representing the South African business and projects in the fields of industrial automation, automotive manufacturing, and battery testing systems. In this role, you have the opportunity to play a foundational part in further European expansion and collaborate closely with experienced engineering and project teams in South Africa.
Your Tasks
Sales & Customer Development
- You build and maintain strong relationships with customers and industry partners.
- You identify new leads and drive business growth across Europe, including preparing quotations, system concepts, and cost estimations.
- You engage in technical discussions with customers and propose tailored automation solutions.
Project & Technical Coordination
- You act as the link between the South African engineering team and German-based activities, including on-site surveys, design reviews, and status meetings with customers.
- You support and expand a reliable local supplier and service network.
- You will report directly to senior management and be supported by our technical and administrative teams.
Your Profile
- You hold a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a similar field.
- With your hands-on experience in industrial automation, including PLC, HMI, robotics, motion systems, and LV distribution, you make a strong impact.
- Ideally, you have experience in the automotive manufacturing or battery assembly sector.
- You work independently and in a structured way, managing your tasks efficiently.
- Your excellent communication skills allow you to interact confidently with customers.

You are willing to travel within Europe and occasionally to South Africa.
Your entrepreneurial mindset drives you to contribute actively to a growing operation. - Ideally, you bring experience in sales or technical marketing.
- You have project management experience, which strengthens your profile.
- Your previous international or multicultural work experience adds valuable perspective.
- You bring strong German and English language skills, with B2+ German preferred.
