What it's about
Partners Group is looking for a Head of Treasury Trading to oversee all trading activities linked to Partners Group managed funds, client mandates, as well as its own balance sheet. The role entail leading a small team, comprised of traders and regulatory experts.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the Treasury Trading desk in all day-to-day aspects, on behalf of PG’s advised and managed funds, mandates as well as PG’s own balance sheet.
- Provide execution of trades of any complexity in all main asset classes like FX, Equities and Fixed Income, including Derivatives.
- Have the overall responsibility for the trading infrastructure:
- Have the business responsibility for interfaces between portfolio, treasury management and trade execution systems as Tradar, ReaITìck, Wallstreet Suite and FXAII/360T.
- Own and design the team's service catalogue and KPIs in an entrepreneurial fashion, while constantly analysing data on resulting benefits for clients and shareholders.
- Identify and manage high-risk areas adequately supported by a control framework; be on top of and act according to regulations and upcoming regulatory changes.
- Assist with ISDA negotiation where relevant.
- Develop new and strengthen existing business relationships with counterparties, including banks.
- Create value-add initiatives to increase performance, minimize risk and increase scalability.
- Be the interface with the middle office and maintain close interaction for all settlement and reporting aspects (e.g. best execution).
- Act as a center of excellence for portfolio, treasury and investment managers with advice on trade implementation for all asset classes.
- Maintain regular interaction with other departments as legal, compliance, structuring, business applications, audit, tax, etc.
- Be a member of the Counterparty Risk Group, and lead of the Best Execution Committee.
- Has a minimum of 10-15 years of execution trading experience, including in a leadership position, at an asset manager, a private bank, or within the treasury desk of a global universal bank.
- Multi-asset experience (incl. equities) is desired; experience with fixed income (money market, rates, FX, …) is a must-have. Experience with derivatives is required.
- Has experience owning, implementing and adapting trading information systems.
- Has strategic capabilities to establish goals/vision for Partners Group with regards to its trading activities, and build a realistic plan, in line with the firm’s priorities.
- The ability to withstand pressure, a fast-pace and deliver multiple tasks at the same time.
- An individual with strong numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.
- An individual who creates a sense of purpose/meaning for the team that generates followership beyond his/her own personality and engages others to the greater purpose for the organization as a whole.
- An individual who is viewed by others as having a high degree of integrity and forethought in his/her approach to making decisions.
- Existing trading relationships with global banks is a strong plus.
- Fluency in English is required. Fluency German or an additional languages is appreciated.
