Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

The Real-World & Clinical Data Strategy (RWCDS) team drives data excellence and analytics to power enhanced decision-making and evidence-generation within Roche Product Development. We develop and implement data strategies that unlock the value of clinical, operational, and real-world data to accelerate evidence generation, decision-making, and innovation across PD and beyond. By embedding FAIR principles, advancing data governance, and enabling data productization, RWCDS ensures that data is not only findable and usable, but also a driver of scientific rigor, regulatory readiness, and AI-powered transformation. Through deep partnerships with internal functions and external collaborators, we shape a future-ready data ecosystem that supports personalized healthcare and efficient drug development.

The Data Strategy & Analytics Lead, Oncology (Hematology) in RWCDS leads the implementation of data strategies across a therapeutic area, ensuring effective integration of real-world and clinical data into decision-making processes. Reporting to the TA Lead, this role is accountable for translating therapeutic area needs into actionable data standards and solutions, aligning RWCDS capabilities to drive scientific and strategic value. The role also manages a team of data strategists and analysts supporting delivery and innovation across the TA portfolio.

The Opportunity

  • Strategic Leadership: Spearhead the development of small-to-mid size/complexity disease area data strategies and analytics plans in line with therapeutic area-level strategies and business needs.

  • Cross-Functional Influence: Serve as an SME and trusted partner to disease area-level cross-functional partners, ensuring strategies meet business needs and influencing decisions based on data-driven insights.

  • Data Productization: Oversee the integration of real-world, clinical, and operational data into fit-for-purpose data marts and products ready to influence cross-functional decisions and evidence generation.

  • Governance & Quality: Partner with data stewards to ensure cross-PDD governance frameworks meet disease area needs and maintain alignment with RWCDS data quality standards.

  • Methodological Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise in data interpretation and methodological rigor across analytics use cases while contributing to enterprise-wide data enablement initiatives.

  • Team Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of data strategists and analysts, fostering a culture of scientific curiosity and setting clear priorities aligned with functional goals.

  • Talent Management: Support capability development and strategic resourcing by partnering with functional leaders and P&C to attract, develop, and retain top-tier data talent.

Who You Are

  • Educational & Professional Foundation: You hold a Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Life Sciences, Epidemiology, or a related field, supported by 12+ years of experience in data strategy, clinical development, or evidence generation.

  • Leadership & Matrix Experience: You have 3+ years of experience leading teams in matrixed or functional settings, with a proven ability to set performance expectations and support strategic resourcing.

  • Technical & Regulatory Domain Expertise: You possess a deep understanding of the clinical development lifecycle and TA-specific data applications, including familiarity with FAIR principles, enterprise data governance, and the use of RWD/RWE in regulatory submissions.

  • Strategic Agility & Critical Thinking: You demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity for independent thinking, with the agility to make sound decisions that extend beyond the technical domain into broader business strategy.

  • Global Communication & Impact: You are a skilled communicator with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders, combined with the cultural respect required to influence partners in a global workplace.
