Lonza Audit Services (LAS) provides the board and management with independent, risk-based and objective assurance, advice, insight, and foresight. The function is independently positioned with direct accountability to the Board; it works with the management and reviews activities in the organization, reports observations, risks and recommendations to the audited parties, senior management, Executive Committee as well as to the Audit & Compliance Committee.

For our small, but impactful internal audit team, we are looking for a highly motivated and talented auditor or audit manager (depending on level of experience), with a focus on digital transformation. Your task will be to support or lead/execute internal audit assignments within the Lonza Group, while also driving or contributing to digital transformation initiatives within the internal audit function. You will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the business and develop your expertise for a future line management career.

Role / Main Responsibilities:

• As an auditor, prepare, execute and conduct assigned internal audit activities; as a manager, plan lead and deliver internal audit assignments, including coverage of occasional consulting / advisory engagements and special projects in all operational areas (sourcing and procurement, inventory management, marketing & sales, production, human resources, finance& accounting)

• As an auditor, support and cooperate with the audit team; as a team lead, train, supervise and guide team member(s) and/or outsourced experts assigned to individual engagements

• Present audit results to stakeholders; prepare clear and concise audit reports that effectively communicate key findings, root causes, and associated risks, and follow-up regularly on the effective implementation of audit recommendations

• Play a pro-active role in digital transformation activities of LAS; lead and/or contribute to innovations as well as initiatives aiming at continuous improvements and optimization of the Internal Audit function

Minimum Required Qualifications / Skills:

• Master degree in business administration, information technology or any other area

• 3+ years of internal / external audit experience (preferably experience from manufacturing industries); experienced in executing assignments in compliance with IIA’s Global Internal Audit Standards (candidates with CIA or CISA preferred)

• Hands-on practical experiences / involvement in projects concerning auditing, development and implementation of applications, digital transformation activities like DA, automation, AI or similar; knowledge of ETL concepts and familiarity with SQL, Python programming and/or Power BI dashboards is strongly preferred

• Excellent understanding of standard business processes like S2P, OTC, R2R with solid know-how of SAP

• Good analytical skills, risk focused, target and deadline oriented, result driven and solution developer, motivated self-starter

• Team player and very good communicator with leadership skills and potential to develop career further within the Lonza Group after 3-4 years in internal auditing

• Excellent command of written and spoken English

• Travel requirements approximately 20%

• Location: Basel Headquarters (relocation necessary; home office limited to max. 2 days per week)
