The Position
The Pharma Technical Operations (PT) Global MSAT & Engineering, and Sustainability (PTT) group takes bold steps to modernize technical operations to enable Roche to deliver medicines for patients more quickly, efficiently and reliably. PTT shapes and accelerates technology innovation and product lifecycle management for tomorrow, while standardizing and enhancing operational excellence in PT today.
PTT’s Materials Compliance, Safety and Sustainability (MCS&S) Team works with PT, Roche Group functions and affiliates for systematically driving material compliance, safety and sustainability.
The opportunity
The internship focuses on accelerating the decarbonization of our upstream supply chain by bridging the gap between high-level Greenhouse Gas (GHG) data and product-level implementation.
As our intern you will
Become a part of the MCS&S Sustainability team, contributing to our carbon reduction efforts.
Analyze carbon emissions from purchased materials and services, focusing on high-impact categories.
Work closely with Procurement, Contract Manufacturing, and Technical Operations to develop and execute carbon-reduction roadmaps with key pharmaceutical suppliers.
Support the corporate decarbonization strategy by translating complex GHG data into practical, actionable projects.
Drive initiatives that align supplier capabilities with internal technical and quality standards, ensuring impactful carbon reduction measures.
Who you are
You are enrolled in or have completed your studies within the last 12 months with a degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD) in Sustainable Engineering, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Chemical or Bioprocess Engineering, Sustainability Management, Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
Demonstrated foundational knowledge of transforming complex data into tangible outcomes.
Proven record of academic achievement and relevant technical coursework.
Furthermore, your key strengths are in
GHG Accounting: Familiarity with GHG Protocol calculation methods and Product Lifecycle Analysis.
Pharma Operations: Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is an advantage.
Procurement: Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Category Management Basics are an advantage.
Rapid Learner & Adaptable: Proven ability to quickly grasp complex data and technical concepts and pivot between diverse tasks.
Initiative and Out-of-the-Box Thinking: Demonstrates a proactive mindset, seeks opportunities to drive improvements, and proposes creative solutions to environmental impact reduction challenges.
Professional Rigor: Possesses exceptional attention to detail and a high standard for organizational quality.
Communication & Influence: Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills in English for clear internal correspondence and stakeholder engagement.
