The Position
Global Production Network Strategy Team for an exciting 12-month internship where you will be supporting and learning from the team shaping the future of our manufacturing and supply chain operations. This comprehensive role offers a unique opportunity to support key initiatives across the entire spectrum of our strategic work. You will assist the team in defining our long-term network strategy - from conducting market research and competitor intelligence to supporting the development of financial business cases for major investments and learning about complex 'make-vs-buy' scenarios. Beyond strategy definition, you will actively support the execution and project coordination of these initiatives, helping the team drive the shift towards a more digital portfolio and enhanced operational efficiency. Furthermore, you will gain exposure to high-level corporate governance and critical functions like Business Continuity and Risk Management, learning how we ensure the resilience of our entire global network.
The Opportunity
The scope outlined here is exemplary, as specific responsibilities may vary depending on the intern's skills, the Network Strategy Team's priorities, and current business needs.
Strategic Planning & Scenario Analysis: Support the yearly strategy cycle by evaluating strategic scenarios—including make-vs-buy decisions and network node selection—to inform senior leadership on trade-offs and risks.
Financial & Capacity Modeling: Assist in building quantitative business cases and financial models (NPV, CAPEX, COGs) while analyzing long-term capacity requirements against current network capabilities.
Market Intelligence & Decision Support: Conduct competitor benchmarking and industry research to prepare high-quality presentation materials and pre-reads for senior executive governance bodies.
PMO & Strategy Execution: Drive the operationalization of the network strategy by synchronizing cross-functional workstreams, tracking milestone health, and managing escalation pathways.
Digital Transformation: Lead the transition of manual reporting processes toward digital portfolio tools, collaborating with digital SMEs to modernize strategy tracking and visualization.
Operations & Communications: Partner with Operations Support to enhance team productivity and orchestrate a quarterly communication strategy in collaboration with department leadership.
Risk Management & Governance: Support senior-level decision-making processes (ONE PT Board) and improve Business Continuity Management (BCM) through manual reviews, tabletop exercises, and KPI tracking.
