JOB DESCRIPTION

At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love. That’s what makes us Roche.

The Global Pharma Strategy (GPS) team plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare by driving the strategic direction of our innovative product portfolio. As a member of GPS, you will be at the forefront of transforming groundbreaking scientific discoveries into accessible and impactful healthcare solutions for patients worldwide. We seek a dynamic, technically-gifted professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about data integrity and strategic modeling.

The Partnering and Portfolio Analytics Lead holds a unique dual-mandate within the Portfolio, Strategy & Insights (PSI) department. Reporting to the Head of Partnering Commercial Assessment Leaders (PCAL), with a dotted line to the Ecosystems Insights Beyond TA Enabling Lead this role serves as the analytical bridge between internal portfolio strategy and external business development.

The Opportunity

Your mission is to provide the analytical support required to value external innovations while simultaneously providing the "big picture" portfolio analytics that help Roche frame its strategic choices. You will balance your time between deep-dive project work for PCALs and broader enterprise-level portfolio assessments.

  • Commercial Assessment Support (PCAL Partnership): Act as the technical engine for licensing and M&A projects. You will orchestrate the initial setup of revenue models and have oversight of the financial valuation models (aNPVs), ensuring they are structured to capture key value drivers.
  • Model Audit & Quality Assurance: Serve as the final line of defense for analytical rigor. You will perform quality checks on commercial models to ensure capture of market assumptions, and financial formulas are robust and error-free.
  • Enterprise Portfolio Analytics: In partnership with PSI colleagues (especially F&DA and PPS), lead the development of analytics that frame our internal pipeline. Identify high-potential growth drivers, critical trade-offs, and strategic gaps to strengthen Roche’s portfolio position and future strategic direction. By analyzing the current portfolio, you will provide the necessary context to help leadership understand the strategic fit and "space" for external opportunities.
  • Market Trends Integration: Leverage diverse data sources to identify emerging healthcare landscape shifts, assess potential impact on both external opportunities and the internal portfolio, and inform how the organization navigates an evolving environment.
  • Agile & Resilient Execution: Navigate a fast-paced environment where timelines are often dictated by the competitive nature of business development. You will demonstrate a hard-working attitude and the flexibility to support business-critical needs during unsociable hours when global deals are in flight.
  • Methodological Excellence: Collaborate with the Ecosystem Insights and PCAL communities to evolve best practices. You will identify opportunities to streamline business operations through the development of new principles, templates, and modeling tools.

Who you are

  • Education & Experience: Degree in Finance, Mathematics, or Science with a minimum of 8 years of experience in healthcare analytics or pharmaceutical forecasting. A background in strategy consulting or corporate finance is a plus.

  • Technical Specialist: You possess expert-level proficiency in Excel/Sheets and are highly skilled in patient based forecast and financial modeling (revenues, DCF, aNPV, and sensitivity analysis). You have a deep understanding of pharmaceutical market dynamics and drug development timelines.

  • Dual-Perspective Thinker: You can pivot effortlessly between the granular details of a single-asset deal and the high-level complexity of a global portfolio. You understand how data from one informs the strategy of the other.

  • Resilience & Commitment: You are known for your "can-do" attitude and your ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure. You are comfortable with the unpredictable nature of partnering projects and are committed to meeting tight deadlines.

  • Analytical Rigor: You have a "detective" mindset when it comes to data. You enjoy stress-testing assumptions and find satisfaction in ensuring every cell in a model is accurate and logically sound.

  • Strong Collaborator: Proven ability to work in a matrix environment. While your focus is technical, you can effectively communicate with PCALs and cross functional partners to ensure alignment on value drivers and strategic objectives.

  • Strategic storyteller: You can craft compelling narratives that translate complex analyses into clear and actionable insights to influence business decisions
