Talascend is currently seeking a Plant Integration Engineer – Mechanical and Process Systems for a remote, contract opportunity with our client.

Overview

The role involves supporting the integration, oversight, and coordination of nuclear and energy island mechanical and process systems, providing technical and administrative design support for a wide range of systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight of nuclear and non-nuclear systems.
• Provide integration and oversight to geographically diverse team members to develop system design deliverables.
• Support development of steam, power, and auxiliary system components in the plant 3D model.
• Support integration of mechanical/process systems with integration engineers of interfacing systems.
• Support interface with other plant design departments.
• Track engineering and procurement task progress and schedule adherence for the assigned systems.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences or a related technical field is required, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in nuclear and non-nuclear power plant design and/or retrofits.

Requirements

• Leadership skills by proactively driving cross functional design collaboration and integration of mechanical process systems.
• Engineering experience with multiple systems that are listed for possible integration and oversight.
• Team oriented and able to work effectively with geographically distributed and possibly international design team members.
• Broad-based technical and engineering skills and experience leading an integrated cross functional design team.
• Experience with overseeing and tracking of engineering design schedules and driving of schedule adherence and mitigation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a first of a kind environment that requires good engineering judgement.
• Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.
• Possess a high degree of trust and integrity, able to communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
