About the Position
Help us shape how 6G networks are tested. Deutsche Telekom’s Open 6G Lab is part of the Deutsche Telekom 6G Program. It turns 6G concepts, AI-native network functions, Open RAN technologies and strategic use cases into demonstrable, validated results.
We are looking for an AI Test Engineer with RAN expertise to join our multidisciplinary team. You will work with other Lab members and report functionally to the Functional Technical Open 6G Lab Lead. Together, you will design, set up, run and evaluate end-to-end tests—and build AI-based automation for testing and certification.
Must-Have Skills
Strong RAN knowledge and hands-on experience in network testing, measurements, monitoring and performance analysis.
Experience designing test scenarios, setting up test systems, operating measurement equipment and interpreting results.
Practical ability to develop or use scripts and automation (for example, Python) and to analyze logs, telemetry and test data.
Experience with AI/ML solutions or test automation, and motivation to apply AI across test planning, execution, result analysis and reporting.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with 5G/6G, Open RAN or end-to-end testing with open-source platforms such as OAI or OCUDU gNB.
Familiarity with RF instruments, channel emulators, traffic generators, protocol analyzers or UE/call-box testers.
Knowledge of 3GPP or O-RAN Alliance specifications, test procedures or certification activities; relevant certification is welcome.
Experience with CI/CD, ML/LLM pipelines, automated validation or deployment.
The mindset we value
You are curious about how complex systems behave, careful with evidence and open about what test results do—and do not—show. You take ownership, learn from failures and work constructively across disciplines. You listen well, communicate with empathy, share knowledge and help colleagues succeed. We value emotional intelligence and collaboration alongside technical expertise.
Women are especially encouraged to apply. We welcome applications from people returning after parental leave and are willing to support the right candidate with training and a structured re-entry into the role. You do not need to meet every nice-to-have criterion to apply.
