Overview of the position
The project revolves around the investigation of metabolism and signaling of major metabolites in cardiomyocyte in the context of HFpEF.
An in-depth molecular understanding of the metabolic changes occurring in HFpEF, coupled with the identification of signaling pathways driving these changes may bring to the discovery of new therapeutic target in this syndrome.
The successful candidate will benefit also from our DFG Collaborative Research Center CRC1470 " Multilevel Mechanistic Characterization HFpEF".
You are working scientifically: According to §110 (4), sentence 3, the BerlHG provides academic staff with an appropriate amount of time within their working hours for their own further academic qualification.
What we are looking for
- PhD degree in molecular biology, cardiovascular medicine, biology or computer science
- Strong background in bioinformatics, mass spectrometry, epigenetic and NGS approaches preferred
- At least one first-author high-impact publication
- Solid wet-lab experience – cells and animal work
- Highly motivated and committed to scientific excellence
- Full proficiency in English, written and oral

Information regarding the position
- Pay grade E13 TVöD VKA-K . Classification is based on qualifications, with the respective level of experience calculated on the basis of years of professional experience. The monthly salary (gross) is stated for a full-time position without annual bonus payments. The collective agreement can be found here
- The position is to be filled full-time with 38.5 hours per week and is limited to the duration of the project until 30.09.2028
- We offer 30 vacation days as standard
