The Department of Infectious Diseases and Critical Care Medicine conducts publicly funded third-party projects and clinical studies. We are looking for a motivated scientific project manager for an innovative EU-funded project with 14 partners from Europe in the field of artificial intelligence in medicine. The aim of the project is to develop, implement, and clinically validate AI-supported agent systems for the care of patients with chronic diseases.
Overview of the position
- You will be responsible for supporting the project lead in project management tasks (e.g., submitting ethics applications, coordinating contracts, e.g., with the EU)
- You will assist in the collection, maintenance, and evaluation of scientific information and data
- You will coordinate and prepare reports (status, annual, and final reports on the research project) for the project lead
- You will be responsible for budget monitoring and project controlling in close cooperation with the third-party funding department
- You will assist with scientific publications and prepare conference presentations
- You will provide support in travel planning/accounting and personnel management within the scope of the project.
- You will assist in the application process for new third-party funded projects, including coordination with internal stakeholders (Research Grants Office, contract management, etc.)
- You will be responsible for the editorial maintenance of the project website
- You will be employed as a research assistant: According to §110 (4), sentence 3, the BerlHG provides for research assistants to have an appropriate amount of time during working hours for their own further scientific qualification
What we are looking for
- You have a university degree in the field of natural sciences, health sciences, social sciences, public health, or a similar field; a PhD is desirable
- You have already gained valuable professional experience in applying for and managing publicly funded third-party projects in a university setting. In-depth knowledge of EU projects is desirable
- If possible, you have experience in conducting clinical trials
- You are interested in scientific work
- You have an independent, reliable working style and are flexible, structured, and committed
- You are confident in using common office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Your working style is characterized by excellent communication skills and strong organizational talent
- You are business fluent in German and have very good English skills

Information regarding the position
- Paygrade E13 according to TVöD VKA-K. Your job grade depends on your job qualification whereas the experience level depends on the number of working years. The yearly gross salary is hereby provided based on a full time position excluding yearly bonus and additional pay. You may find further information here
- Working hours can be part-time from 30 or full-time with up to 38.5 hours per week. Please indicate how many hours you would like to work per week
- The position is limited until 31.12.2029, as it is tied to the project duration
- 30 days of paid vacation per year
