Your role
As Project Lead (m/f/d/x) – TV Devices, you are responsible for the successful delivery of complex TV device projects across Deutsche Telekom’s national companies.
You manage the development, integration, certification, and commercial launch of set-top boxes and other TV devices, working closely with internal teams, national companies, and external technology and industry partners.
In this role, you combine technical leadership with professional project management. You facilitate and drive technical decisions, coordinate dependencies across multiple teams and partners, and ensure the successful delivery of complex device projects in an international environment.
Your responsibilities
- You manage TV device projects end-to-end — from project initiation through development, integration, and certification to commercial launch.
- You work closely with the Program Lead and manage the operational execution of project plans, milestones, budgets, risk management, and dependency tracking.
- You provide technical leadership within the project, drive technical decisions, and ensure alignment between Engineering teams, national companies, OEMs, and technology partners.
- You coordinate cross-functional teams across Product Management, Engineering, QA, Procurement, Operations, and Marketing.
- You act as the central technical interface for the national companies, ensuring alignment on architecture, requirements, integration, timelines, and launch readiness.
- You coordinate technical implementation with OEMs, chipset vendors, middleware providers, certification partners, and other external suppliers.
- You evaluate technical solution proposals and trade-offs, identify technical risks early, and drive their resolution throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Together with other Project Leads, you further develop common technical approaches, engineering standards, and KPIs for TV device programs.
- You support the Program Lead in preparing technical status reports, project updates, and management briefings.
- You coordinate product certifications, field testing, production readiness, and commercial launch activities.
What you bring
In addition to a university degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a comparable technical discipline, you have at least five years of professional experience leading complex projects in TV devices, consumer electronics, or embedded software. Your additional skills include:
- Strong technical knowledge in areas such as Android TV, Linux-based set-top boxes, Smart TV platforms, or comparable embedded systems.
- Proven experience working with OEMs, chipset vendors, middleware providers, and software integration partners.
- A good understanding of software architecture, device integration, networking technologies, media technologies, and certification processes.
- Experience with both agile and traditional project management methodologies.
- The ability to analyze complex technical topics in a structured way, prepare sound decisions, and align diverse technical stakeholders around common solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to provide clarity and direction in complex international stakeholder environments.
Nice to have
- Experience with Android TV Operator Tier or the Google TV ecosystem.
- Experience with OTT/IPTV platforms and video streaming technologies.
- Experience in the development and lifecycle management of consumer electronics products.
- Experience with relevant device and technology certifications, such as Google, Netflix, Dolby, DVB, HDMI, or DRM.
- Experience in telecommunications or Pay TV.
