Position description
The professor contributes to research, teaching and outreach activities of the WTI. The professorship focuses on international trade. The candidate has a proven track record of high-quality research, a track record in obtaining and managing external research funding, experience in supervising PhD and postdoc researchers, and has built strong research collaborations. The candidate shows a strong commitment to promoting early career researchers and gender equality/equal opportunities.
The position is advertised at the level of an associate or full professorship pursuant to the respective qualifications. The professor is one of the WTI Directors and a member of the Department of Economics of the University of Bern.
Suitable candidates possess competencies such as teamwork and communication skills and can manage complex leadership and conflict situations. The University of Bern promotes flexible working time models. Job-sharing applications are welcome and must be accompanied by a concept for the collaboration (see guidelines). The University of Bern has set the aim of increasing the percentage of women in leading academic positions and thus strongly encourages qualified female scientists to apply for the position.
