About us
Group ICS Management is responsible for the ICS process (Internal Control System) as an instrument of functional management for the Deutsche Telekom Group. We support all group companies in implementing efficient, modern and automated control processes. In addition, the Control Testing Team (CTT), established in 2024, carries out international checks on the appropriateness of the control design and the effectiveness of internal controls in financial reporting.
This involves setting group-wide design standards and developing best practice control sets to increase the efficiency and quality of the ICS.
CTT is expanding the use of AI in audit execution, with the aim of automating suitable audit procedures and enabling continuous audits in the future. At the same time, the team is developing audit approaches for the risks of AI-based processes and systems.
tasks
As head of the Control Testing Team, you define the overarching areas of responsibility, the multi-year audit plan and the quality standards.
- They set guidelines for methods and instruments for end-to-end audits. They are responsible for and further develop stakeholder communication (audit committee, board of management, CFOs, auditors, etc.).
- They define the strategy for groupwide, cross-company clustering of internal controls and for the development of best practice control sets
- You are responsible for the development of testing methodology and the use of AI in control testing. In doing so, you determine which audit activities AI is suitable for and what requirements apply in terms of audit quality, evidence, traceability and human professional judgment
- You develop audit approaches and standards for risks from AI-based processes and systems - in particular to assess AI governance and AI-specific controls as well as to evaluate, monitor and stress test AI systems
- They set guidelines for the development of audit processes and standards, tool support and reporting. They develop strategies and guidelines to take current developments in accounting, auditing and AI assurance into account in their area of responsibility
- They are responsible for selecting new employees, organizing the team and motivating employees, initiating training and further development, and promoting talent. You determine which additional competencies are required for AI-supported control testing in the team and are responsible for the corresponding development of competencies
- You cascade the overarching strategy into your own area and develop strategies and policy regulations
- They optimize the area of responsibility based on key figures, increase process efficiency and perform tasks as part of budget planning.
- You represent work results vis-à-vis the higher-level management level and work on strategic projects
Profile
You have a degree with a focus on business administration/accounting or a comparable qualification and have many years of professional experience in accounting and auditing.
- You have excellent knowledge and many years of experience in international accounting, internal controls and audit.
- You have ideally supplemented your many years of audit and assurance experience with a relevant professional examination (e.g. auditor, CPA) or a comparable professional qualification. Additional certifications, such as CIA or CISA, are an advantage
- They have practical experience with AI, data analytics or comparable approaches in the audit or assurance environment and can assess significant AI-specific risks and derive requirements for internal controls and audit approaches from this. Your technological understanding enables you to professionally steer specialized experts, critically question their approaches and results, and to integrate them into the overall assessment of the ICS
- You communicate fluently in German and English, act in a risk-oriented and quality-oriented manner and have distinctive professional judgment and professional skepticism
- You communicate clearly to customers, colleagues, employees and stakeholders about the objectives and results of the audits. You are a team player, enjoy working internationally and have experience in successfully managing international teams
