About the role
At KFS Group, we build software for businesses, often in hospitality and commerce. This is a builder role: you'll help shape what we build and turn user needs into working software, from the first idea through production use. You'll join a small team of experienced engineers, working across the database, API, and interface, with support as you learn our tools and applications.
How we use AI
We use state-of-the-art AI tools, currently Codex and Claude, to implement, investigate, test, and review code. We work through user needs, product direction, architecture, and framework choices ourselves. You'll think through these decisions with the team and take responsibility for verifying the code you ship. What the role requires
We are looking for someone with strong experience in full-stack software development who can work independently in a remote setting. If you match most of our technical requirements rather than all of them, we still encourage you to apply.
What you will do
Understand who the users are, what they need to achieve, and how they will use the software. Turn that understanding into clear requirements and practical product decisions.
Build features across Postgres, APIs, and React interfaces using TypeScript and Python.
Design usable interfaces around real tasks and workflows. Prioritize clarity and ease of use over decorative visual polish.
Work with data models, migrations, authentication, and permissions.
Implement and test changes, investigate failures, and follow features through deployment and production use, with guidance from experienced engineers.
Our stack
Frontend: React, Vite, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
Backend and data: Python, Supabase, Postgres, and SQL.
Development and operations: Git/GitHub, CI/CD, Cloudflare, Debian, and the terminal.
In special cases: InfluxDB, RLS, Astro, TimescaleDB, Flutter, Grafana, and other tools depending on the project.
What we are looking for
Practical experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, React, and relational databases and SQL.
An understanding of APIs, authentication, permissions, and debugging. You can explain your decisions and work through unfamiliar problems.
Interest in product development and user experience. You consider whether a solution fits its users and their work.
Comfort using AI development tools and critically reviewing their output. You can test and verify your changes.
Ownership of your work, clear communication about progress, and willingness to ask for help when needed.
Clear English communication and residence in Hungary for a full-time Hungarian employment contract.
Useful additional experience
Python, Supabase, or comparable backend platforms.
Deploying applications, maintaining production systems, or working with CI/CD pipelines.
Support and benefits
Support from experienced engineers in learning the tooling, managing applications in production, and developing products.
A small team with short feedback loops, clear ownership, and room to take on more responsibility as you develop.
Modern hardware, access to Codex and Claude, and a learning budget.
Full-time Hungarian employment and fully remote work within Hungary.
How to apply
Apply through this platform with a short introduction and your CV or a description of something you've built. GitHub, portfolio, and project links are welcome. If your work is confidential, describe the problem, your contribution, and the decisions you made.
No essay required. We review every application and reply to everyone.
