About the role

As Team Leader Instrumentation, you will manage and develop the Production Instrumentation service within the Technical Services department at our Bulle site. Your mission is to align the service with the site’s vision, strategy, and objectives, ensuring compliance with quality (cGMP), health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. You will play a key role in deploying HSE policy and in leading the Production Instrumentation team.

Who you’ll work with

  • Ensure proper management of instrumentation standards (type, calibration, compliance, availability).
  • Develop and monitor performance indicators to optimize cost and intervention time; lead service routines and improvement projects.
  • Act as process data owner for service software; maintain databases and perform periodic reviews (vendors, access, audit trail).
  • Ensure compliance with quality and HSE policies; lead deviations, CAPAs, change controls; support internal/external inspections.
  • Serve as backup for the Maintenance and Instrumentation Manager when delegated.
  • Integrate UCB’s ambitions for diversity, equity, inclusion, business health management, environmental policy, ethics, compliance, and patient value culture into daily responsibilities.

I nterested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field; CFC Technique or equivalent may be considered if relevant experience in the field.
  • Additional certifications in quality, safety, or instrumentation are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of GMP regulations and industrial instrumentation/metrology.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnological, chemical, or food production environments.
  • Strong grasp of HSE principles and safe work practices.
  • Proficiency with IT tools: MS Office (Excel, Word), SAP, quality records and document management systems (e.g., Source), statistical tools/control charts, and metrology software (e.g., Optimu).
  • Proven ability to lead a team and work effectively in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Planning and organizational strength; sound judgment, accountability, and decision ‑ making.
  • Talent identification and development; ability to set objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Priority management, analytical and synthesis skills; problem ‑ solving for unforeseen situations; proactive mindset.
  • Clear, concise communication; attentive listening and observation; flexibility and strong writing skills.
  • Fluency in French with the ability to communicate in English.
