As a Staff Engineer (F/M/*) at amber, you are more than just a developer. You are a technical leader who drives innovation and shapes the future of our products and engineering teams. In this role, you will work hands-on with complex software systems while defining architectural direction, ensuring scalability, and setting new standards for code quality. Your day-to-day will range from designing solutions for high-impact challenges to mentoring engineers across teams and collaborating closely with product and design to deliver outstanding, user-centric technology.

Tasks

• You will shape the technical foundation and architecture of products that reach and impact thousands of users every day
• You work on evolving and scaling our software systems to ensure long-term reliability, performance, and sustainability
• You guide engineering teams through complex technical choices, providing clarity and enabling delivery
• You set the standard for code quality, engineering best practices, and system performance across the organization
• You mentor and inspire other engineers, fostering growth, knowledge sharing, and technical leadership
• You collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to turn ideas into robust, user-centric solutions
• You champion a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and engineering excellence that drives both people and products forward

Requirements

• You have extensive experience in professional software engineering, including leading complex technical initiatives and driving impactful projects
• You bring deep expertise in system architecture, scalable systems, and performance optimization
• You are fluent in modern programming practices and have hands-on experience across both frontend and backend technologies; you reliably complete tasks you have started
• You have a proven track record of guiding engineering teams through technical trade-offs and high-stakes architectural choices
• You mentor and inspire engineers at all levels, fostering growth, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence
• You communicate with clarity and collaborate effectively across teams, disciplines, and stakeholders
