What you´ll do
As a Spacecraft Operations Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of the Metop-B and C and SG satellites, which provide essential meteorological data for weather forecasting and climate monitoring. These are the main tasks:
- Support the execution of operations for Metop-B, C and SG satellites, including monitoring and control of both spacecraft and ground systems during routine operations.
- Participate in the spacecraft operations definition, planning, and scheduling process for Metop-B, C and SG missions.
- Analyse satellite telemetry on a regular basis to assess spacecraft health and performance.
- Design, develop, validate, and maintain both nominal and contingency operational procedures for Metop-B, C and SG satellites.
- Contribute to the investigation and resolution of spacecraft anomalies.
- Provide first-level on-call support for spacecraft and ground system anomalies, ensuring the safety of Metop-B, C and SG satellites.
- Prepare and present subsystem/payload performance reports for various regular reviews and meetings.
- Contribute to operations preparation activities for future Metop satellites, like e.g. preparing and executing SVTs, participating in various Simulations campaigns and rehearsals.
- Produce and maintain operations documentation for Metop-B, C and SG missions.
- Conduct trending and performance analysis of the Metop-B, C and SG platforms and payloads.
What we are looking for
- University degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Experience in spacecraft operations engineering for Low Earth Orbit (LEO), 3-axis stabilized spacecraft.
- Familiarity with mission control systems (SCOS, EPOCH) and operations preparation tools (MOIS, APEX).
- Strong analytical skills and experience in satellite performance monitoring and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
