Introduction
As a Global Commodity Manager you are in a strategic procurement role that is critical to ensure a competitive supply of equipment, parts and services to the worldwide operations of GlobalFoundries. This role works closely with key stakeholders across US, Asia and Europe regions in the respective operations, and finance departments to define requirements and with the broader Global Supply Management Team to fully leverage the supply base and global best practices from both a commercial and technical standpoint. It will be focused on manufacturing equipment.
Your Job
Coordinate tasks within the Equipment commodity team and with the various Fab stakeholders (Finance, Planning, Cost Driver)
Define sourcing strategies for assigned commodity in alignment with the objectives of the Global Supply Management organization and the respective Global Commodity Head(s)
Act as the primary supplier interface to enable supplier development, performance management, and collaboration
Plan and conduct global commercial negotiations and support local escalations as required
Actively utilize strategic tools, processes & systems to perform sourcing and analytical/reporting tasks (SAP Ariba/Hana4, Power BI, Cleansheeting, Negotiation Planners, etc).
Act as the primary procurement point of contact in the defined commodity for stakeholders and coordinate the procurement activities on new manufacturing equipment and/or service engagement
Support site specific supply issues working closely with Operations, Central Planning, Material Management, Quality, and other key internal stakeholders
Identify continuous improvement opportunities, alternative sourcing strategies, global price trends, and communicate progress / achievements to realize maximum value and organizational objectives
Monitor the global market to identify potential new suppliers, product derivatives, and product innovations
Analyze, manage, and control contractual agreements and prepare renegotiations to achieve commercial and technical objectives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration and/or relevant field of study
Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in an industrial environment
Good command of English & German Language – written & verbal
Ability to lead projects and cross-functional teams
Ability and willingness to travel internationally including Singapore and USA from time to time
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Business, Science or Engineering or related field study
Knowledge of materials and/or their application in semiconductor manufacturing, quality requirements and related supply base
Proficiency in sourcing related skills including sourcing strategy development and execution, contract management and supplier performance management
Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and influence stakeholders and team members.
Experience in a semiconductor environment or related industry
