At the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry, the Chair of Theoretical Chemistry offers a position as Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/x) (subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L) starting as soon as possible. The position is limited to 2 years. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). Tasks: The successful candidate will investigate quantum simulations of proton diffusion through precision pores with experimental partner groups at MPI Halle and Leiden University/NL. The successful candidate commits to actively participate in networking including regular research visits to the partner laboratories.

Requirements: university and PhD degree in chemistry or physics and profound knowledge in computational and theoretical physics/chemistry. Capability of team work is essential. Skills in high-performance computing, materials chemistry, theoretical chemistry, molecular dynamics, data science, and machine learning are beneficial.
