The Institute for Ion Beam Physics and Materials Research is dedicated to the study of materials and their nanostructures that can be considered for future applications in information technology and are based on electrical, magnetic or optical functionalities.
The Department of Nanoelectronics is looking for a Scientific Group Leader (f/m/d) 2D-Materials - tenure track. The position will be offered subject to approval of project funding.
Our focus is on world-class nanofabrication which allows the rapid integration of 2D-materials in various device architectures. This is accomplished in our fully equipped cleanroom and electron beam lithography facility. The department also provides low temperature (10 mK) and high-magnetic field (8 T) cryostat to characterise the materials for applications in nano- and quantumelectronics.
Your tasks
- Head of the group on 2D-materials in the department of Nanoelectronics
- Strategic development of the group
- Supervision of PhD students (4 at the moment)
- Publishing of results in high-impact journals
- Acquisition of third-party funding
Your profile
- Completed university studies (PhD) in the field of Physics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or comparable natural sciences
- Relevant professional experience (3-5 years) in the specified area
- Expertise in electronics of 2D-materials and quantum electronics
- Hands-on experience in nanofabrication and cryogenic measurements
- Excellent English
