What you'll do

We are looking for a working student to help build agentic AI–enabled analysis features in our User Information System. You will support the team in developing ABAP Cloud/RAP services, secure data models, and integrations that let AI agents generate grounded insights and natural-language analytics. This is a hands-on role with mentorship, ideal for students who want real-world experience at the intersection of ABAP engineering and applied AI.

• Assist in designing and implementing ABAP Cloud (RAP) services and CDS views that power analytics and natural-language experiences
• Help prototype agentic AI workflows that use tool/function calling to interact with backend ABAP services (queries, summaries, explanations, recommendations)
• Contribute to retrieval and context setups (e.g., RAG, semantic search) and to prompt and tool catalog design under guidance
• Integrate approved AI providers or SAP BTP services via secure HTTP/OAuth and destinations; help manage secrets and basic cost/latency monitoring
• Support Fiori Elements/UI5 pages that present AI insights and narratives to users
• Write unit tests, document features and create demo content
• Participate in code reviews, stand-ups, and iterative delivery with Product, Data/AI, Security, and UX

What you bring

• Student (f/m/d) Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• Computer skills:
• Programming fundamentals and object-oriented skills; exposure to ABAP or willingness to learn quickly
• Basic knowledge of SQL and data modeling; interest in analytics and performance
• Interest in LLMs/AI (prompting, RAG, tool/function calling, evaluation) and eagerness to learn enterprise-grade practices
• Language skills: Fluent in German, English (written and verbal)
• Soft skills: Team player, creative, clear communication, attention to detail, and a security/privacy mindset
• Working from office is required

Meet your team

ABAP Security Dresden comprises seven colleagues primarily responsible for general compliance matters, including the auditing of complex software solutions, and ABAP Security. In our daily business operations, we are actively working on implementing new features and providing support to customers in resolving their errors
