Job Description
Insurance is boring and sleepy? Forget the stereotypes! In an industry often considered stuffy, we are living proof to the contrary.
Welcome to ÖRAG!
We have one goal: to help people get their rights – and we've been doing so since 1970. Since our founding over 50 years ago, we've grown steadily and are among the leading providers of legal protection insurance in Germany. This is also due to the fact that our comprehensive coverage and service regularly receive top marks.
How do we do it? The success of our group of companies is based on tradition and innovation. We value security and stability as much as creativity and flexibility. That's why we place great importance on flexible working hours, modern workplaces, and a diverse workforce.
A key pillar of our success is our finance department. We are looking for a passionate and assertive individual for the Business Controlling & Analytics department who will enrich our team with expertise and creativity.
You don't just want to do a job, but rather contribute your ideas and take on responsibility? Do you love tackling complex topics with a clear structure and achieving great things together with others? Then come join us – a team that thinks ahead and works closely with other departments.
Your new role with us:
- Data infrastructure: You develop and implement scalable data infrastructures for the efficient storage and processing of large amounts of structured and unstructured insurance data.
- Data integration: You integrate data from different sources to create a consolidated database for analyses and data-driven decisions.
- Data preparation: You prepare raw data for further analysis by cleaning and transforming it.
- Automation: You develop scripts and automation solutions to optimize recurring data processes and increase the efficiency of data processing.
- Data quality and governance: You implement mechanisms to ensure data quality and compliance with legal regulations.
- Data analysis: You will independently carry out basic data analyses and create meaningful dashboards and reports that help decision-makers make informed decisions based on data.
This is what you bring with you – strong in your field, convincing in your personality:
- You have completed a degree in computer science, business informatics, mathematics or a comparable qualification.
- You have experience in data engineering and basic knowledge of data analytics. Experience in the insurance industry is an advantage but not required.
- You have in-depth knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases as well as working with data warehouses and data lakes.
- You have experience in developing ETL processes and working with modern data pipelines (e.g., Apache Spark)
- You have extensive programming knowledge in Python, R or SAS or SAS-Viya and are confident in applying this knowledge in the areas of data engineering and data analytics.
- You have experience with cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g. databricks)
- You can communicate complex technical issues in a simple and understandable way and enjoy working in an interdisciplinary manner.
- You are proactive, solution-oriented and at the same time a team player who feels comfortable in an agile environment.
- You have very good written and spoken German skills.
More reasons to become a part of us:
- A crisis-proof job in the form of a permanent employment contract with a future-oriented company in the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe
- A 38-hour week and attractive remuneration with 14 full salaries
- A holiday entitlement of 30 days, which can be increased by flexitime, as well as days off on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve
- The largely individual design of your working hours within the framework of a flexible flexitime model (after appropriate training period)
- A collegial working atmosphere in a committed and reliable team
- A regular exchange with your manager
- Internal and external programs for personal and professional development
- Extensive social benefits and pleasant extras such as:
