At the Chair of Pharmaceutical Biology at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), we develop new therapeutic avenues and biomaterials that use principles found in nature to better treat bacterial infections. We are studying the communication between bacteria and cells in order to find new therapeutic approaches for inflammatory diseases, and vaccination avenues. Our research group currently consists of four doctoral and two postdoctoral researcher, two scientists, two technical staff and a chair office. Our interdisciplinary and international team is committed to innovation, sustainability, and scientific excellence.

Your Tasks

Contribution to the DFG-funded project "Pneumococcal membrane vesicles as cell-free vaccine avenue to pneumonia infections"

Characterisation of bacterial vesicles and assessment of their immunostimulatory potential

Assisting in the scientific support and mentoring of BSc/MSc students

Collaborating with pharmacists, chemists, and biologists within a multidisciplinary research environment
- Participating in practical courses (Pharmacy degree) and assisting in conducting them (classes conducted in German)
Your Profile

Completed university degree (Master/State examination) in Pharmacy (preferred), Biology, Biotechnology, or Microbiology from a nationally or internationally recognized institution

Proficiency in MS Office and other scientific software e.g. Endnote/Citavi, SigmaPlot
-
Fluent written and oral communication skills in English (at least C1 level or equivalent)

Very good to fluent knowledge of the German language (at least level B2)

Proactive attitude towards new projects and methods
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
