The AXRT DevOps Team builds and operates the delivery platform for Software Defined Automation — Siemens' next generation of industrial automation. Every code change, every build, every deployment across the SDA product line runs through our platform. We work in an AWS/Kubernetes environment with a high degree of automation, a strong focus on reliability, and a commitment to staying at the technical forefront — including AI-assisted DevOps workflows.

We are an international, high-impact team where your work directly shapes how 20+ development teams build and ship software. We're growing, and we're looking for someone who wants to co-own the platform, not just operate it.

You'll make an impact by:

• Operating and evolving our AWS EKS cluster landscape — Kubernetes, autoscaling, networking, security, cost optimization
• Developing reusable CI/CD templates (GitLab CI), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and GitOps-based deployment mechanisms (Flux) that development teams rely on daily
• Building robust automation and internal tooling using modern languages like Python to extend platform capabilities
• Building and improving platform observability (Datadog) — dashboards, alerting, capacity planning — so we catch problems before our users do
• Analyzing and resolving infrastructure incidents end-to-end: root-cause analysis, self-healing automation, on-call support
• Providing self-service tools and enablement that empower development teams to build, release, and deploy independently — including AI-assisted tooling and workflows
• Shaping DevOps as a platform function — not a ticket queue, but a product that scales

This is how you´ll win us over:

• What you bring:
• University degree in Computer Science or a comparable field
• Solid experience developing and operating cloud platforms or distributed systems in agile environments
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, CNCF technologies, and Linux — including cluster lifecycle management and advanced troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, IAM, networking), Terraform, and GitLab CI
• Expertise in version control (Git) and a deep understanding of collaborative workflows (branching strategies, merge requests, code reviews)
• Proficiency in Python and scripting (Bash/sh)
• Confident English and German communication skills
• Bonus Points:
• Active contributions to Open Source (OSS) projects, especially within the CNCF or DevOps ecosystem
• Experience with observability platforms (Datadog or comparable) and IAM technologies (SAML v2, OIDC, Keycloak, Auth0, Okta)
• Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD)
• Interest in leveraging AI tools (Copilot, coding agents) to improve DevOps workflows — we're early adopters and want people who are curious about this
