Job Description
An Oracle Data Centre Manager will be the technical liaison between the technology teams and the Data Centre Environment. In this role you will manage a team of 8-10 Datacenter Technicians. You can troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues, you understand which issues to escalate to the appropriate resolver groups. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. Expected to improve current processes, execute small projects on your own and work with your direct manager in planning and executing larger local projects.
Requirements:
- Min. of 3 years of experience managing teams, including line management, appraisals, performance reviews, hiring new team members etc.
- several years’ experience in IT Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems).
- Several years’ experience supporting and troubleshooting distributed, N-Tier applications, software, and operating systems.
Required Data Centre experience:
- Experience supporting large, Enterprise customers in an operation environment.
- Strong understanding of Data center environment and infrastructure: Cabling, Cooling, Power, Networking.
- Demonstrated examples of Data Centre white space capacity planning.
- Demonstrate understanding of Change Management.
- Demonstrated examples of process improvement execution.
- Demonstrated examples of a drive to dig into the details of a system or process to solve customer problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill.
- Ability to work independently, with little direct management.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities:
- Conduct regular performance check-ins with team members to ensure alignment with individual and organizational goals.
- Providing regular meetings with individual team members to provide feedback, support, and career development guidance.
- Coaching, mentoring.
- Auding of data center spaces to ensure compliance with operational standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Effectively prioritize and delegate tasks to the team.
- Performance review of vendors and colocation providers.
- Change management and incident management.
- Single point of contacts for escalations.
- Be available on-call to address urgent operational issues and emergencies as needed.
- Ensure Team meets OCI Service Level Agreements.
- Participation in GEO-Wide/Global Projects and represent the region.
