Details of the role and how it fits into the team
You will be joining the Global Monitoring Coverage & Oversight (GMCO) team within the Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) function which provides global oversight of the Transaction Monitoring Program, ensuring the effective application of Global Transaction Monitoring Standards and associated frameworks. It assesses current and emerging risks and defines the coverage requirements, working closely with Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) and Technology, Data and Innovation (TDI) to develop and maintain transaction monitoring models throughout their lifecycle in line with global standards and regional risk profiles.
The Risk and Typology Coverage Assessment (RTCA) team is a core part of this function, focusing on risk identification, coverage assessments and the evaluation of transaction monitoring requirements for new products and services.
Your key responsibilities
You lead and develop the Risk and Typology Coverage Assessment (RTCA) team within Global Monitoring Coverage & Oversight (GMCO) team.
You take responsibility for conducting Risk and Typology Coverage Assessments across Germany, EMEA and APAC, with support to UK & I and Americas, where required.
You assess new products and services as part of the New Product Approval process and determine resulting transaction monitoring requirements, ensuring appropriate documentation.
You ensure effective stakeholder communication across AFC Monitoring, Business Line AFC and relevant segments, including the definition of temporary controls where needed.
You track the implementation of AFC-related conditions arising from New Product Approvals until full and adequate completion.
You oversee the AML/CTF Red Flag Repository and support the Head of Risk Taxonomy in assessing the relevance of products and typologies for money laundering and terrorist financing risks.
Your skills and experiences
University degree (Bachelor or Master), ideally in economics, social sciences, geopolitics, mathematics or computer science.
Several years of relevant professional experience in Anti-Financial Crime within a banking, financial services or regulatory environment.
Strong expertise in AML/CTF risks, typologies and transaction monitoring coverage assessments.
Experience in analysing money laundering and terrorist financing indicators across different business lines.
Knowledge of model development and parameter setting (desirable).
Proven leadership capability in complex and dynamic environments.
