You'll make an impact by
As a PhD candidate (f/m/d) in our dynamic research group, you will be at the cutting edge of our "Architecture for Emerging Technologies" research initiative. This program is designed to develop architectural solutions and blueprints for the efficient development and evolution of software systems leveraging cutting edge technologies to empower our product and engineering teams.
Your research will focus on developing novel approaches to optimize software engineering workflows, particularly in highly complex real-world scenarios using emerging technologies such as LLMs and generative AI, in general.
- You will develop AI-driven architectural frameworks for multi-domain engineering, focusing on the effective provision and maintenance of system-aware knowledge within complex engineering and change management processes
- Additionally, you will identify necessary architectural patterns and mechanisms to manage hallucination in intelligent systems, ensuring a balance between adaptability and reliability
- Furthermore, you will align model-based reasoning with Large Language Model (LLM)-based reasoning to enhance the integration of explicitly known constraints into agentic reasoning processes
- You will also evaluate the extent to which explicit system structure is necessary, exploring decentralized communication approaches among various agents to improve AI-driven processes
- Lastly, you will determine the scope and extent of models required for effective AI-driven change management, integrating automation with human-in-the-loop interventions to ensure system robustness and accountability

- Education: You have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, with an excellent academic record

Experience and Skills:
- Strong background in software engineering, with a focus on software design principles, distributed systems, and architectural patterns
- Proficiency in artificial intelligence and machine learning, including experience with large language models, knowledge representation, and agent-based systems
- Advanced programming skills in relevant languages such as Python, and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks
- Ways of Working: Ability to break down complex problems and propose innovative solutions, combined with excellent scientific communication skills
- Languages: Excellent proficiency in English
