The AI & Quant Development team at TotalEnergies Gas and Power is at the forefront of leveraging machine learning to provide valuable insights for various trading desks, propelling the efficiency of the energy transition. Based in Geneva, the team operates in a dynamic environment influenced by evolving market trends, climate policies, and advancements in the energy sector. Focused on creating practical and lasting solutions, the team develops robust software products such as advanced Auto-ML libraries. With expertise in machine learning, data science, quant development and software engineering, the team is committed to delivering impactful tools that drive innovation and efficiency. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting, contributing to the company's goal of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050.

Aktivitäten

Activities:

• Assist in the development of advanced Auto-ML time-series forecasting libraries tailored for trading, energy management and optimization. Contribute to innovation in data science and machine learning and participate in software engineering challenges. Participate in code reviews, testing, and integration processes to ensure high-quality software solutions.

Possible subjects of the internship include:

• Build and test new modules to expand the functionality of existing ML libraries, optimizing them for enhanced scalability and user experience.

• Design and implement algorithms for hedging and risk management, addressing real-world challenges in energy trading and optimization.
• Conduct research on defining optimal KPIs for evaluating time-series forecasting performance, with a focus on practical applications and measurable outcomes.

Develop drift detection mechanisms to monitor data changes and determine when to retrain models or adjust forecasting processes.

Profil der Bewerberin/des Bewerbers

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Strong interest in machine learning, data science, software engineering and energy trading.
• A solid understanding of data science/machine learning principles and familiarity with software development, or strong software development skills with a working knowledge of data science and machine learning concepts.

• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML libraries.
• Eagerness to learn and innovate, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Fluency in English or French, with an advanced command of English required.
