We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst/Scientist to join our IoT Lab team, contributing to the development of BOBST Connect, our all-in-one digital platform designed to enhance packaging productivity.
BOBST Connect brings data and digital services together in a fully connected cloud platform, embedding BOBST machine insights and expertise to enable end-to-end visibility and orchestration of the production process.

Your Role
In this role, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IoT product management, development teams, and other Data Scientists to define new data-driven products, services, and tools leveraging data and machine learning.You will develop data models, algorithms, and statistical analyses to extract meaningful insights from large and complex datasets, and support the teams with operational data-related tasks.
Please note: this is a hands-on role, involving substantial data crunching. If you are looking for a managerial or supervisory position, this opportunity will not fit, as our teams operate within a flat and highly collaborative structure.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions to address diverse business challenges (e.g., predictive maintenance, equipment lifecycle analysis, etc.).
- Translate product owner requirements into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Build and optimize data models, algorithms, and statistical analyses to extract and interpret key trends.
- Design and implement data pipelines and data warehouses to support analytical and reporting needs.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
- (For more senior candidates) Support developers by sharing best practices in data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
- Stay abreast of emerging data science, machine learning, and AI technologies, and apply them pragmatically to business problems.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages (ideally Python), with experience using data manipulation and analysis libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, and deep learning.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or standard libraries (e.g., Plotly, D3.js).
- Strong ability to communicate complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive (experience with Databricks is a strong asset).
- Familiarity with cloud environments, ideally Microsoft Azure.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and use of Azure DevOps.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including very senior managers.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify patterns and insights in large data sets.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy and completeness, while keeping solutions as simple and robust as possible.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in an agile environment, including the ability to manage priorities and give regular reporting on ongoing tasks.
- Continuous learning mindset, keeping up to date with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning.
- Ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions to complex business problems.
Education and Languages
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (Master’s or PhD a plus).
- Full professional proficiency in English; French is an asset.
