Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

Job description

ATMOS Space Cargo is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and verification of cutting-edge re-entry and return vehicle technologies. In this role, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to help ensure our capsule performs reliably from launch to landing. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working across interfaces, understanding complex systems, and contributing both to the big picture and to technical detail.

Key responsibilities
- You will support the definition, development, and maintenance of the systems architecture for the PHOENIX 2 re-entry vehicle
- You will contribute to requirements definition, flow-down, and traceability across engineering disciplines to support end-to-end mission success
- You will support system integration and verification activities, including test planning, execution, and documentation
- You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical alignment across subsystems and interfaces
- You will prepare and maintain systems engineering documentation, including requirements, verification plans, interface documentation, and reports
- You will support the identification, tracking, and resolution of technical issues and risks throughout the development process
You will contribute to the continuous improvement of systems engineering methods, tools, and processes within the team

Profile required

- Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Experience in systems engineering for complex aerospace systems
- Strong grasp of spacecraft subsystems (structures, propulsion, thermal, avionics, GNC) and their integration
- Skilled in requirements management and system verification
- Excellent communication skills in English; German or French a plus
- Structured, proactive, and collaborative working style
