CBmed is a center for biomarker research in medicine with headquarter in Graz. It links excellent research infrastructure, scientific expertise, medical knowledge, national and international industry partners for systematic medical biomarker research.

To strengthen our team in Graz, we are seeking to recruit an ambitious and committed team player.

Tasks:

• Develop, optimize, and validate immunoassay protocols for new biomarkers or analytes
• Analyse and interpret immunoassay results with high accuracy and attention to detail
• Ensure compliance with quality standards
• Participate in method transfer, assay validation, and technical troubleshooting
• Train and mentor junior staff or new team members on immunoassay techniques and best practices
• Communication with stakeholders and partners
• Recording and analysing laboratory data using a LIMS system
• Writing reports, reviews, and summaries, and presenting laboratory results
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment related to ELISA and ECLIA platforms
• Stay current with scientific literature and emerging technologies in immunoassay development

Skills and Abilities:

• Extensive hands-on experience with ELISA and ECLIA assays in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g., GCLP, GLP, or GMP)
• Proven track record in supporting early-phase clinical trials (Phase 1a and 1b), including sample analysis and data documentation
• Strong understanding of assay development, optimization, and validation processes for use in clinical research applications
• Background in oncology-related biomarker analysis, with familiarity in immunoassays targeting tumour markers, cytokines, or therapeutic antibodies
• Experience working with clinical sample matrices (e.g., plasma, serum) under strict quality and documentation standards
• Skilled in writing and reviewing SOPs, assay protocol, and validation plans/reports in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Detail-oriented and quality-driven, with a solid grasp of documentation practices in regulated environments (e.g., audits, inspections)
• Effective communicator and team player, able to collaborate across functions
• Ability to train and mentor junior team members, sharing best practices and ensuring consistency and laboratory operations
• Post doc / Biologist / Molecular Biologist / all similar with a MSc degree or higher
• Advanced spoken and written English communication skills, German communication skills beneficial

We offer an unlimited contract for 40 hours/week. Exemplary yearly salary for a Post doc position is EUR 87220,-. Overpayment is possible, depending on qualifications and work experience.
