The permanent full professorship will be filled after a selection procedure according to the Austrian law § 98 UG with 20% employment at TU Graz and assigned to the Institute of Theoretical Physics - Computational Physics.
We are looking for a person with outstanding scientific credentials whose current work and original scientific questions in the field of space sciences will strengthen the long-standing intensive cooperation between Graz University of Technology and the Institute of Space Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). Teaching activities are expected in the field of space sciences for master's and doctoral studies, in particular on current research topics of the ÖAW Institute of Space Research. The professorship is integrated into the future Graz Center of Physics and thus part of NAWI Graz, the university cooperation between the University of Graz and Graz University of Technology that has been successful for over 20 years.
Relocation of the future professor to the greater Graz area (main residence) is required.
Applicants should have a strong command of the English language, both written and spoken, to be able to effectively represent the field internationally, and they must also be willing to learn German if they do not already know the language.
Employment Requirements
- A PhD-level university education in a discipline relevant for the position.
- Outstanding scientific performance in research and teaching.
- Experience with teaching at the university level.
- Excellent didactic skills.
- Management and leadership abilities.
- Involvement in international research projects.

- Experience in the acquisition and handling of third-party funded projects.
- Team spirit
- Experience in cooperation with universities and research institutions.
