As an Application Solution Engineer for Adhesive Tape Printing & Packaging Solutions (PPS), you will play a key role in driving growth and technical excellence across the printing, paper, and web-processing industries. Working closely with customers, printing equipment manufacturers, and internal sales, marketing, and product development teams, you will help implement high-performance adhesive solutions that optimize production processes and deliver measurable customer value.

This role combines hands-on technical expertise, customer-facing consultancy, and strategic market development in an international environment, with a strong focus on Europe.

Our market
The Printing & Packaging Solutions team serves a broad range of applications across flexographic and digital printing, packaging, paper processing, and corrugated board production. These industries depend on precise, reliable, and efficient workflows. tesa supports them with advanced adhesive technologies for plate mounting, splicing, corrugator processes, and packaging applications. In this role, you will support customers directly on-site, helping them solve technical challenges and continuously optimize their production processes.

Your tasks include

Technical consulting & customer support

• Advise customers and PPS Sales Specialists on selecting the optimal tesa adhesive tape solutions based on end-customer requirements and applications
• Provide global on-site technical support with a primary focus on Europe
• Support implementation of full-service solutions at customer sites in collaboration with sales and equipment manufacturing partners
  

Training & knowledge transfer

• Deliver technical trainings for customers and internal sales teams, webinars, workshops, and tech days
• Act as a technical reference for printing and packaging applications within PPS

Cross-functional collaboration

• Manage interfaces with local and global sales, marketing, and product development teams
• Build and maintain a strong internal network of PPS adhesive tape experts across business units and regions

Market & portfolio development

• Create and maintain technical documentation of the PPS adhesive tape portfolio
• Conduct competitor benchmarking and application comparisons
• Identify strategic business fields, growth opportunities, and relevant market and technology trends

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Print & Media Technology, Materials Science, Natural Sciences, or a related field
• Solid technical understanding of common printing, converting, and packaging processes
• Experience in adhesive tape development, application engineering, technical marketing, or project management is an advantage
• High level of independence, curiosity, and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive initiatives in a matrix organization
• Strong customer orientation and willingness to travel approximately 50% (domestic and international)
• Business-fluent German and English; additional languages are a plus
